The Sherpa Pet Group has partnered with United Airlines™ to ensure that you will not encounter any delays or complications when flying with your pet. Here's how it works...

1. Fill out the form below with your flight information and details to ensure that you are compliant with United Airlines™ flight requirements before your travel day.

 2. Print your Guaranteed on Board™ Certificate and bring with you to the airport and present to the boarding agent.

 3. If you are denied boarding due to the Sherpa Pet Group carrier that you are using to transport your pet, the Sherpa Pet Group will reimburse you for the cost of your flight and your pet fee, subject to the rules and conditions listed below.

Trip Details

  • United Airlines does not allow pets in the cabin to Hawaii except certified guide dogs.
  • Pets are not accepted in the cabin to the UK.
  • Make advance arrangements. When booking a flight on which you will bring your pet, please call United Reservations at 800.864.8331. Be sure to reconfirm 24 to 48 hours before departure that you will be bringing your pet. Please note that advance arrangements are not guarantees that your animal will travel on a specific flight.
  • United Airlines may not be able to accommodate pets on some aircraft or routes, or in many United First and United Business cabins.

Pet Information


Pets must be at least eight weeks old and fully weaned before traveling. Pets over 6 months old are limited to one per carrier. Pets over eight weeks but less than 6 months old are limited to 2 pets per carrier.

Has your pet traveled on an airline before?
United Airlines requires a pet transportation charge of $125.00 USD each way. Fees must be paid at the airport check-in counter and may not be paid online.
Have you booked your pet with reservations?
  • To be as humane as possible, United reserves the right to refuse to transport an animal for reasons like illness, poor kenneling or aggressive and/or violent behavior. Important considerations for acceptance of animals include their health and disposition, since an airline cannot transport an animal that is violent or dangerously ill.
  • You will need a health certificate issued no more than 30 days before departure in order to comply with state and federal laws.


Carrier Information

  • Your pet carrier will take the place of one carry-on item.
  • Passengers are required to make sure all health and pet travel documents are current and compliant with local, state, federal and international entry requirements and regulations.
  • Carriers can contain up to 1 dog or cat or 2 puppies or kittens (minimum 8 weeks old/maximum 6 months old).
  • Carriers should allow your pet freedom of movement so it is able to stand, lie down and turn around freely.
  • A health certificate is required (in most cases heather certificates dated within 30 days of scheduled travel)

Terms & Conditions


The Sherpa Pet Group Guaranteed on Board™ program is designed to ensure that you and your pet travel comfortably and hassle free. If you follow the guidelines below and are denied boarding the aircraft with your pet, Sherpa Pet Group will refund the cost of your flight and your pet travel fees.

This program is subject to the following:
  1. You have filled out all the information on the Guaranteed on Board form truthfully and accurately - if not, this offer is void
  2. If you and your pet are denied boarding the aircraft due to any issues other than those related to the carrier, this offer is void
  3. If your pet is viewed as a threat to the safety of you, itself or others, this offer is null and void
  4. If the information that was filled out and submitted is not accurate, this offer is void
  5. If you fail to arrive at the gate on time and are denied boarding, this offer is void
  6. If the carrier that you are using is damaged, in poor repair or condition, this offer is void
  7. If the safety of your pet is in question due to non related carrier issues, this offer is void
  8. If you are over the limit for carry-on baggage and are denied boarding, this offer is void
  9. If the flight is cancelled or you voluntarily decide to not take the flight, this offer is void

I have fully read the details of the Sherpa Pet Group, LLC Guaranteed on Board™ program and understand the terms of conditions related to the recovery of my airline ticket costs and my pet's travel cost(s). In the event that I am denied boarding, I am aware that I will need to have the Guaranteed on Board forms filled out and signed by the person that is denying my entry.
